Transpower House, 96 The Terrace has been sold to developer Maurice Clark. Transpower House was designed by Stephenson & Turner in a post war international style and has a steel frame and was built by Wilkins & Davies in 1960 for Shell who owned and occupied the building until 1999. Previous owners include Sir Ron Brierley. A typical floor plate equals 722 sqm and the total nett lettable area is 8,377 sqm approx.
Transpower are to vacate the building shortly and move to their new offices in Boulcott St (ex Dominion Post uilding) which was also re- developed by owner Maurice Clark. Maurice Clark intends re strengthening 96 The Terrace and leasing the building as office space to be available early to mid 2018. Given the lack of large office space around at the moment, the building should lease up quickly and ease some pent up demand from larger tenants. Maurice Clark also owns Chartered Accountants House (ex Tower Building) , 50 Customhouse Quay and Conversation house (ex Mid City Centre) 18 Manners Street amongst others.
